How to check an Instagram growth service before you pay
Six checks, about ten minutes
- Read the one-star reviews before the score. A high score can rest on a small or old base. On the profile, check the star split and how many reviews were written in the last 12 months.
- Check whether Trustpilot has suspended or removed it. A suspended profile shows “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.” instead of a score. The warnings page lists every growth service this has happened to.
- Read what it sells on its own site. If the same company sells follower, like or view packs, it is selling something Meta’s spam policy does not allow.
- Compare the refund promise on the pricing page with the terms. They often differ. The terms are what applies.
- Look for named clients you can open. Accounts you can visit and check for yourself are worth more than first-name testimonials.
- After you start, watch your own insights. Instagram’s free insights show follower growth for any period in the last 90 days. Use them rather than the service’s own dashboard.
Instagram’s own tools for this
Instagram's free insights show an account's performance for any period within the last 90 days, so follower growth can be checked on the account itself rather than taken from a sales page.
Account Status, in Instagram's settings, shows whether anything posted on an account goes against Instagram's rules and may lead to restrictions, such as losing features or the account being taken down.
Instagram filters followers that are likely to be spam into a separate Potential spam list, which can be removed in one go without the accounts being told.
